Cachican 2014 is going to be our first ‘Elaboration Integrale’ in french oak barrels.
These are his very first steps… But the beginning was more than a hundred years ago.

Demencia Villegas vision by Alex Bolado
Today, I would like to let another person talk: Alex Bolado. He is a friend of mine, of course, but now he is writing us about his particular vision. How does Alex feel Demencia?

Elegance
Elegance describes an idea, plan or solution that is clever but simple, and therefore attractive (Cambridge University Dictionary).
Elegance is the trendy word in the Spanish Wine «Business» last season; when I am talking about «business» I mean this new «lobby» composed of bloggers, wine-freaks and some merchants. Sigue leyendo Elegance

Harvest Time
Harvest Time
We have celebrated our Bierzo Day (September, 8th) when People honor La Virgen de la Encina. It use to be common in Spain that the local party day is when the nature gives them his products; in this case: grapes, peppers, apples, tometoes, pears,…
Mix between supersticion, credence and thanks for the harvest. Sigue leyendo Harvest Time

Tasting Barrels
These days we are waiting for the harvest but there are several things to do in cellar. Besides to clean the tanks for getting ready to take in the grapes, we still have our Demencia 2011 in the barrels; and sometimes we need to check.
I have eight wine barrels finishing the Malolactic fermentation these days. Sigue leyendo Tasting Barrels
